Design Sketchbook — Working with Type and Words

The creative process in determining your final copy and type treatment on any project, is a fun and creative workout that allows the designer to exercise unlimited artistic freedom to test different copy, fonts, color and layout.

The project described here was to design a company brochure to be used for sales meetings, trade shows and other marketing efforts. This brochure was designed as a tri-fold, 4 color piece.

In the examples above, although the type treatment and colors remained the same, a background color of 100% black was added as a consideration.

The final design emphasized a more specific direction for the company's message and branding. Graphic Design replaced the mirrored image of Design. Aside from the cover, the background page color reverted to a brilliant white to give an airiness to the inside panels.

in the end, success is achieved when the final creative represents the best messaging for the project and client.
